Taking these photos of the various shorebirds often involve long walks along beaches, mudflats, wetlands, and coastal shores. And in the case of the Atlantic puffins, it took a trip across Canada to Newfoundland where I specifically travelled in search of these magical and funny birds. They are often called  ‘the clowns of the sea’ because of their distinctive, almost comical behavior. The great blue herons and the common waterfowl I find in the nearby estuary close to home.
